ANOTHER DORRIES EXHIBIT SHINES AT IDW

Panorama Stud (Oakey, Qld) not only produces great cattle but Keith and Annette Dorries’ offspring don’t do too badly either.

Son Kirk, received a standing ovation with his rendition of the National Anthem at the 2011 IDW flood fundraising concert which featured country and western star and 2008 Australian of the Year, Lee Kernaghan OAM.

Mum Annette says that Kirk used to sing in his car seat when he was little and entered the Oakey State School’s ‘Idol’ competition as a Grade Two student.  Kirk sang a Shannon Noll’s song ‘What About Me?’ and beat all other entrants including Year Seven children.

Kirk informed IDW’s Brian Leslie that he doesn’t get nervous and that’s probably because he has performed each year at the local Christmas concert in front of an audience of around 1000 people since his debut in Oakey’s Idol.

Kirk is a member of the school choir, the school band and is learning the piano.  He has just entered year seven and has been appointed Vice Captain of the School so he will get lots more practice in the coming year of speaking in front of an audience with over 400 students attending the school.

Kirk currently attends Oakey State School and will enter high school at Downlands College.

Kirk is the grandson of Allen and Denise Whatman, Allen Vale Stud, Oakey.
