The strong number of ten exhibitors and excellent weather made for an interesting day for judging at Mt Pleasant’s 150th show and 52nd Illawarra Feature Show held recently.
Judge, Tom Cochrane (Kangawarra Stud, Pyree, NSW) placed Springvale Rose 34 – (sire Venvale Prince), the mature class winner as Champion Cow commenting on her great frame, deep body, open rib and dairy strength as well as her soft milky udder that extended high and wide at the rear.
Tom said he felt the Junior Champion, Glenbrook Rhapsody 42 (sire Lynonga Poplar’s Empire), a young milker with a big future, showed the best body capacity and udder on the day.
The following two days the Cochrane family of Tom, Kyleigh and Hayden, visited the Williams' herd Treeton, Rupert Gazzola’s stud Benedetto, the Doecke’s Springvale, and Ian and Julie Mueller’s Glenbrook.
