While the Wide Bay Burnett Illawarra Cattle Club's Calf Day had to be cancelled due to the approaching Cyclone Marcia, the following weekend was fine so teams headed off to the Beaudesert Showgrounds for South East Queensland Club's event on Sunday, March 1st.
Numbers were boosted by larger than normal teams from Jondene, Riverwood and Den Dia, with two trucks hitting the road from the Sunshine Coast to Beaudesert thanks to Ron Pratten agreeing to drive the Ledger truck while Steve was off playing cricket. Seven exhibitors paraded 52 head before Judge, Graham Radel (Happy Valley Stud, Biggenden).
The Ledger Family took out both Junior and Senior Championships with Riverwood Waffle 6 and Riverwood Lorna 35 respectively. Reserve Champion Senior went to Roly and Sharyn Voss with Mt Vista Tulip 12 with the Reserve Junior going to the Pratten family (Den Dia Partnership) with Den Dia Empress 97.
The Canning & Hinrichs Families took out Champion Bull with Whispering Rose Mt Geronimo with Reserve Champion going to Peter and Cheryl Ardrey's Cheralyn Duke.
