Betty Dusts Off Her Good Duds

I.C.S.A. Queensland Branch Secretary, Betty Ledger, recently dusted off her good duds to attend the ceremonial opening of the 54th Parliament of Queensland at the invitation of ex-boss, Fiona Simpson MP, the new Speaker of Queensland State Parliament.

Betty worked as Fiona’s Electorate Officer for over ten years, retiring to work on the family’s dairy farm in 2007.

Also amongst the official guests were Ms Simpson’s parents, Gordon and Norma Simpson.  Betty also worked for Gordon for almost six years as his Secretary while he was the State Member for Cooroora.  She retired from that position upon the birth of her twins, Steven and Michael, spending the next twelve years at home on her and her husband Grant’s cane farm, having another two children, Allen and Maryann, before re-entering the paid workforce with Fiona.
