The Bourke Family missed out on a triple repeat of the senior championship at the Toowoomba Royal and breed feature show, with Myrtleholme Ailsa 14, senior champion for the last two years, being pushed into the Honourable Mention position.
Ahead of Ailsa was the Brisbane Ekka champion for the last two years, Sunny View Duchess (Phillips & Nicholls) who was named Reserve Champion with Judge, Brian Leslie, choosing F S Johnston & Sons' Jondene Barbara 9 as his major broad ribbon winner after placing her first in the 5yrs & U7yrs in milk class as well as Best Udder and Attachment over 3yrs.
In the Junior (Intermediate) championship, Michael and Glenda Henry's Tara Absolute Red was named champion over Eight Mile Agri Trust's (Bill Lester & Family) St Andrews Rose 157. Absolute Red also won Best Udder and Attachment under 3yrs.
Henry's Tara Coral 2 won Juvenile Champion with Jondene Tiddlewinks 8 (F S Johnston & Sons) Reserve Champion and the Under 12months heifer, Allen Vale Marlene 22 (Allen & Denise Whatman) Honourable Mention.
Of the 101 entries, 85 head were on-ground.
