She may have had a caesarean six weeks ago for a twisted uterus to deliver a dead calf, but Wallumlands Sunstorm 8 owned by G Gordon, D Bacon & B Govett, looked a picture and impressed all as the standout exhibit at the Shepparton Illawarra Feature Show yesterday. In the Illawarra ring, Judge Jenny Gray, gave the Terry & Ursula Tidcombe bred Sunstorm Best Udder and Champion Cow. Sunstorm then went on to the Interbreed competition and under Holstein Judge John Holland of Holloden Stud, Victoria, took out Supreme Champion Udder and Supreme Champion Cow.
In previous years, Sunstorm’s sister and dam have both claimed championship ribbons.
The Hayes Family was named Most Successful Exhibitor taking out Junior Champion (Llandovery Blush’s Jinny 1158), Intermediate Champion (Llandovery J R Joan 982) and Reserve Champion Cow (Llandovery Red Liners Pride 697)
The Tidcombe’s took out Reserve Champion Junior with Wallumlands Dame Zarah 7. Both the Champion and Reserve Champion heifers were sired by Wallumlands Blush’s Sevarde.
In the Intermediate championship Erin Ferguson’s Lara Twister Glady was named Reserve Champion.
