ILLAWARRA & SOUTHERN SPRING FAIR 2016. 

40 cattle were entered for the 49th Spring Fair, which was held on Thursday October 20th at the Berry Showgrounds. True to form judging commenced somewhat later than the suggested time of 9am!

Mr Brian Parker of ‘Creighton Park’, Denman, NSW, commented that “although small in numbers the quality of cattle presented before me was high, which was no surprise as the Spring Fair has that reputation.
The junior champion was a well grown heifer with a display of excellent depth and capacity. My reserve was a deep ribbed yearling with a gunbarrell straight top line; I am very excited about this heifer’s future.
The Bellringer cow is a big cow that has shown the test of time on her 5th lactation with body capacity that I just could not overlook. She walked on very good feet & legs.
Reserve Bellringer was a nice sharp boned cow with a better udder than the champion but didn't have the impressive size & scale of the Bellringer.
Congratulations to all exhibitors, I enjoyed the show.”

In the evening a dinner was enjoyed at Southern Stones Bar & Rockgrill in Nowra, with everybody putting on their thinking caps for a trivia quiz and a ‘what cow is this?’ quiz, followed by fun and games for the children.
